Boat Rides

Estuary Connection Opportunities

The Estuary Connection Opportunities (ECO) program repairs and restore classic boats with the help of trained apprentices and volunteers to provide free boat rides on the Bay of Green Bay and Fox River with a focus on those who don’t have access to water on their own. With Generous support from local foundations and community supporters we have now have vessels to accommodate larger groups.

About Estuary Connection Opportunities

Launched as a pilot program in 2021, ECO offers public servants, volunteers, mentors, and referred families with youth a unique opportunity to explore and learn about the waters of the Fox River and the Bay of Green Bay from boats that are restored and operated by HOD. To date we have served over 1000 individuals with free boat rides on the Fox River and the Bay of Green Bay.

"The minute you step on board a boat, you’re able to leave some baggage and stress behind. We want to share the opportunity of seeing Green Bay from the water with people that wouldn't otherwise be able to have this opportunity."

— Mark Hawkins, HOD Board Vice President
